📼 What Is Ghostbusters International?

Released by West End Games in 1989, Ghostbusters International (GBI) updated the original system for world-spanning paranormal gigs. Players still sling proton streams with a fast, cinematic D6 dice pool, but now operate as licensed contractors in a global network of franchises. From Rome catacombs to Tokyo subways to the Long Island seafront—if it goes boo, it goes on the invoice.

📘 Core Rules at a Glance

Dice & The Ghost Die

Roll a pool of D6s equal to your Trait + Talent. Include a special Ghost Die—on a ☢ result, something weird happens even on success. Weird is the point.

Brownie Points

Spend to boost rolls, cheat fate, and patch jumpsuits. Award liberally for genre-appropriate chaos and snappy one-liners.

Fear & Cool

Haunts push your Fear. Keep your Cool to avoid panic, property damage, or spontaneous donut breaks during containment.

Contracts & Cashflow

Jobs have clients, scopes, and liability. Capture the ghost, bill the client, pay the rent. Wreck fewer statues = higher margins.

🏢 Start Your Franchise

GBI lets your crew open shop anywhere. Pick a territory, lease a HQ, then hire, advertise, and survive your first slime emergency.
